Contrary to the popular belief, 64% of the customers consider good shopping experience over price, when it comes to making a purchase decision. No wonder all the successful online businesses, nowadays, are always on the hunt for ways to make their websites more user-friendly.

Online marketplace giant Amazon is the biggest example in this segment. Their focus on customer experience, “Customer Obsession” as they call it, is shown by the way they consistently outperform other retailers in their ACSI customer satisfaction rating. Therefore, enhancing your marketplace to improve your customer experience should top your priority list.

One of the easiest ways to enhance the user-experience of your WooCommerce marketplace is by changing the default (and cumbersome) grid display of products listing into a cleaner and convenient table layout. WCFM has integrated with WooCommerce Product Table plugin enabling you to list the store’s products in a searchable and sortable table layout.

In this article, we’ll show you how to set up the WooCommerce Product Table plugin with WCFM Marketplace in a few simple steps.

Why change into tabular display of products listing?

Enhancing your customer’s shopping experience is the key factor here. Studies have revealed that about 25% of customers drop buying from the site if it’s navigation is complicated or if they have to navigate a lot to find what they want. A table format of products display can be helpful in increasing customer conversion rate.

Converting into a single-page marketplace

A tabular format of your/your vendors’ products listing allows you to display a greater number of products in a single page. The more products a customer finds in a single view, the easier it is for the customer to buy what they want. As a result, you can increase your average order value and boost sales.

Using WooCommerce Product Table with WCFM Marketplace, you can create a product table that lists all of the products available in the marketplace or display products from specific vendors, or both! This way, customers can head over to the products they’d like to purchase, add them directly to their cart, and proceed to checkout – without actually navigating to individual vendor’s product pages. This also avoids customers being deterred from buying due to unnecessary navigation.

Displaying extra product details

WooCommerce’s default store page layout displays nothing more than the product image, product name, seller, product price and the Add to Cart button. In order to view the product details or even modify items like quantity, one has to go to the individual product page. This becomes quite cumbersome when a customer requires to buy several items with different quantities or variations.

By changing the default grid-display into tabular display, you can show different custom fields, attributes and other necessary details in different columns. Customers can not only view the product details and compare directly from the list but also modify the quantity, size or other variations from the same page. As a result, customers can quickly buy what they want, improving conversion rates.

With WCFM Ultimate, Store Hours and Store Vacation modules will also work within the Quick View lightbox.

In order to proceed with the steps, you need to install and activate WooCommerce and WCFM Marketplace to your WordPress website. Watch this video for a detailed guide on how to install and activate WCFM Marketplace.

Step #1: Install and Activate WooCommerce Product Table

First, download the WooCommerce Product Table plugin. You’ll receive a license key in the email confirmation along with the plugin files. Next, log in to your WordPress website and head over to Plugins > Add New to install and activate the plugin.

Once the plugin is activated, head over to WooCommerce > Settings > Products > Product tables and enter the license key. Click the Save changes button at the bottom of the screen to continue.

Step #2: List Products in the Product Table

The next step is to list all the products available in the marketplace in a table layout. Create a new page on your WordPress website and name it; here we’ve named the page The Marketplace. Add a Shortcode block to the Gutenberg text editor and enter the shortcode [product_table].

Click the Publish button. When you preview the page on your site’s front-end, it will look something like this:

All of your marketplace products will now appear in the product table. Customers can use the search, sort, and filter options to quickly find what they’re looking for.

Step #3: Adding Product Tables to Individual Vendor’s Pages (Optional)

One of the incredible features of WooCommerce Product Table is that it also allows adding product tables to each individual vendor’s product category pages.

This way, customers can head over to the vendor they’d like to purchase products from, find what they’d like to buy from the products table, and quickly add products to their shopping cart. For this, all you have to do is add the table layout throughout your marketplace.

Make It Easier for Customers to Shop at Your Marketplace

WooCommerce Product Table is a great plugin that not only gives your store pages a neat look but also makes it easier for your customers to make purchase decisions. One doesn’t have to maneuver through individual product pages and then buy the specific item. Instead, customers have the convenience of viewing the products and buying them directly from the store page.

Combining the power of WCFM Ultimate and WooCommerce Product Table, you can now boost your sales with a better user interface. Get ready to enhance your customer’s shopping experience in your marketplace store!
