Hi,
Since your plugin is compatible with toolset and you recommend using it, we had the following questions before committing to its use for compatibility with WCFMU:
1. Is it technologically possible to display the taxonomies and other CPTs created using the types plugin in the front end by just using php + wordpress functions/templates? The views plugin is a bit hefty on the price and hence, we needed to be sure that we can display everything without needing the views plugin.
2. Is the toolset API needed for specific tasks which otherwise is impossible with standard php or wordpress function? Eg: In the link, https://wp-types.com/documentation/customizing-sites-using-php/creating-templates-custom-post-type-archives/ you will find that “types_render_field” which “Output the value of a custom field”, is a toolset API function only (they mention it). Can we achieve the same functionality using php and wordpress functions if we want to output the value of a custom field while using toolset to manage Custom fields?
3. Lastly, on disabling toolset, all the taxonomies we created disappear in localhost. Do you think this is a concern for a live site?
Many thanks and best regards,
ArtKraze

Hi,
Thanks for get in touch with us.
1. Yes we reccomend users to use Toolset as it’s easy to use, nothing elae. All the data stored in post_meta table and you can have all this get_post_meta, no view plugin required if you are comfortable enough with PHP coding.
2. No API integration required, you can retrieve data from database very easily. If you are afraid of using Toolset then just leave it, create custom post fields using WCfM Custom fields and show in frontend as your own. Check this – https://wclovers.com/knowledgebase/wcfm-custom-fields/
3. Yeah that’s true, if you disable a plugin then it’s feature will goes off. Here I also want to mention, if you are comfortable enough to create custom taxonomy with your own code then just do it. WCFM has no such restriction it will only work for Toolset custom taxonomies!! Any product taxonomy will be available on frontend product manager, try this please!!
Last I want to mention you that, please relax, I will be there always with you to help in every step. I have reffred too many programic terms only because assuming you are comfortable with those!
If you have any further queries please know me.
Thank You

Hi Shhiv,
Thank you for your fantastic explanations.
I am ex-dev but left coding a very long time back. Hence, I retain understanding of how everything works but I dare not touch codes in a live system as I better let the people who are coding daily to take care of the details.
I emailed you but on topics which I wanted to keep in private. Hope to continue there. Will leave a 5/5 review after implementing the whole thing on the site 😉
Excellently made plugin and excellent support. Good luck with a ton of sales.
Best,
