Product Attributes

Hello,

Need help.
We know that Vendor can add an attributes for their variable products, but when I check in backend menu under “Product –> Attributes” I found empty and where can I find the attributes that the vendor made for their variable products ??
I want to put product attributes filter widget in the shop page.

Hi,

There are two type of attributes –

1. Pre-defined Attributes
2. Product custom attributes

Now, vendors are only allowed to create product custom attributes.

But at “Product –> Attributes” you can see only pre-defined attributes.

If you want to setup widget using Attributes then define some Attributes from “Product –> Attributes” and restrict vendors to use only those.

So user/vendor should not add their own attributes then ? and should choose from that we set in pre defined attributes right ?

Vendors can define attributes but those are only Product Custom Attributes.

WC structure does not allow to define vendor specific pre-defined attributes, we are a bit limited in this case.

So we have to make any possibilities attributes for the vendor to use in order to be able to use it to atributes filter widget right ?

Yes, then you just define Attributes from Products -> Attributes and restrict vendors to use only those.

Disable “Add Attribute” from capability.

What if there is an attributes that not yet covered by us ? So the vendor should ask us manually to add their needs ?

Hi,

I have written something wrong.

Suppose you have created an Attribute “Color” and added terms “Red”, “Green” and “Blue”

Now, if a vendor wants to have “White” that he can add himself, no need to request Admin.

But, if wants to have a new Attribute “Size”, have to place a request to Admin.

Please know me if you have any queries regarding this.
