WCFM breaking WordPress?

After activating WCFM, if I make changes to child theme’s functions.php and try to save those changes…wordpress goes off and eventually returns with this message (instead of the usual “Filed edited successfully”):

“Unable to communicate back with site to check for fatal errors, so the PHP change was reverted. You will need to upload your PHP file change by some other means, such as by using SFTP.”

The problem disappears if I de-activiate WCFM.
To rule out theme conflicts, I switched theme to 2015 and the problem remains if WCFM is active and disappears when WCFM is deactivated.

I have also used health check plugin and enabling WCFM (free version) shows error in the loopback test category of the plugin.

Can you please tell me when this will be fixed.

My development has frozen since I cannot edit functions.php file.

I really like your product and bought WCFM Ultimate.

How long do you think it will take to correct this problem?
