From today I started getting regular 404 ‘Page not Found’ errors in admin store manage eg when try to visit various pages/views.
Selecting “Refresh Permalink” checkbox (Settings > Dashboard Pages) fixes the problem, however it seems to be a temporary fix; the 404 errors have re-appeared 3 times this morning (within approx 2hr timeframe)….then I need to return and check the box again.
What are the causes of this problem? How can we troubleshoot and fix them?
This is concerning situation.
Thanks.
PS.
also the admin dashboard feels slow. Not sure if this is related to 404s? We are on good Woocommerce-specialist hosting (www.liquidweb.com) and are in development with no live users so server performance should not be an issue. - May 19, 2020 at 4:18 pm #133088SushobhanKeymaster
Hi,
Thanks for getting in touch with us!
It’s hard to tell what might be the reason. Assuming you are using the latest version of all the plugins and the themes (please update if not yet), it could be a conflict with one of the plugins or the theme you are using.
To determine that, please follow this troubleshooting guide:
https://wclovers.com/knowledgebase/conflict-check/Only the site admin would know and your users won’t be affected by this troubleshooting.
Please let us know if you find the cause.

All plugins were purchased and downloaded within the past few days. They all appear to be latest version (no notification to update).
These 404s do not always occur, so it is difficult to troubleshoot. If there are any other known reasons (other than possible plugin conflict), please let me know.
Re. Conflict Checker:
I have tested a separate, but possibly related issue here https://wclovers.com/forums/topic/view-groups-vendor-groups-redirects-to-homepage/ (this issue happens 100% of time – so ‘easier’ to troubleshoot) however there is still an issue – even with all other plugins off and Twenty Nineteen…not sure if there is any relationship to this issue. - May 19, 2020 at 10:50 pm #133220CAMParticipant
These 404s are still happening at irregular intervals.
What is the reason you created the ‘Refresh Permalink’ checkbox?
Maybe that will help troubleshoot.
