Ok, I received no answer here, but i realize this is actually not a WCFM issue. I was able to resolve as importing attributes does work properly. I realize that I had “global attributes” set to 1 which means the global attribute needs to be created in advance in admin or it won’t work. After getting that straight the import works fine with attributes.

    Hi,

Can someone please tell me if the product CSV import will work to import custom attributes? I can’t seem to make it work.

    Thanks

i have found a workaround. If i go to any of the products that were imported and i re-save them manually (individually), then the categories in which they are associated will show up on the vendor page. There is surely something missing when doing a CSV import, or the assignment to store in bulk edit mode. One of those two things is not updating the product properly to get the categories to appear on the vendor page.

I tried to do a bulk edit within WCFM on all products to see if that would work, but it does not. The only way to get them updated and the category to appear on the left side of the vendor page is to do them one at a time. With that in mind; i would say the problem almost certainly is with the bulk edit not working properly within WCFM to make the category association appear properly for the vendor. I used the bulk edit to assign them to the store, after doing the import which points to the bulk editor. Then now trying the bulk editor to update all items and it still not giving proper assignment to the categories for the vendor page, also points to the bulk editor being where the issue resides.

    Thanks

Thanks for the reply. Attached is the sidebar tabs which are the default when a vendor is creating a new product. The custom field that was created is called UPC Item Number, which you can see is listed as the last of those tabs. I want to make the first listed tab. The main reason is because its a required field and when the vendor clicks to add the product if they have not added this field a warning comes up saying UPC is required, but it doesn’t open that block up so its confusing to the vendor. If it’s listed first, it will be open (similar to the way Inventory is open because its listed first). Can you help me to get it to the top?

    Thanks
    James
